Hungry not only for bread – but hungry for love. Naked not only for clothing – but naked for human dignity and respect. Homeless not only for want of a room of bricks – but homeless because of rejection. –Mother Theresa

Captain Australia’s Crime Fighting Journal, Entry#54

I will update this post with more information and detail this weekend, including some interesting video.  My Sydney patrols have been dominated by homelessness and drugs.  Here’s a quick summary:

– A lovely man running a business called ‘Burgerz’ out of Kings Cross has asked me to help him with addicts and dealers undermining his business

– I had a photo shoot on a rooftop for the Telegraph Sunday Magazine, with an article due to be published 25 April .. it was incredible and surreal .. the team who photographed me are real artists

– I met a range of homeless people and addicts and want to share their stories and their desperation to be heard and understood

– I was on television on the Channel 7 Sunrise show on Wednesday morning (Note  if you visit http://au.tv.yahoo.com/sunrise/video/ and look at the video titled “Markson Maxed Out”, where I appear at about  46 seconds and again around 2 minutes into the story on Sunrise, I hope I didnt spoil their story)

I’m pleased by the newspaper article and getting on television.  Part of my goal is to find a public voice, so that I can speak for victims and speak out against apathy, try and extend my message as far as I can.

I will fully update this post over the easter weekend.

Your friend,

Captain Australia
