Footnote correction: Captain Australia does not carry a defensive spray, and is looking at the legalities of carrying a swiss army knife.

Be cautious around King’s Cross, that’s one of the toughest parts in the state.

Looking into becoming a Real Life Super Hero. Have you ever had to defend yourself? Have you ever assisted in an arrest? Just curious! Hope to hear from you!

Captain Australia December 17, 2010 at 5:48 pm

I’ve had some physical conflicts, but to-date nothing too serious. There hasn’t been any situation where I’ve had to hold someone until the police arrive (yet).
Crime fighting is about 1/3 of my mission, I also search for new ways to help people and inspire people to make the world a better place .. for the most part, crime fighting is a lot of foot patrols, and a lot of following up on leads.

Hey, I think what you do is really cool. Giving up your time and risking your safety at night to help people. :) I’ve got to know, do you read superhero comic books yourself or do you just like the idea of costumed vigilantism?

Reply

Captain Australia March 8, 2011 at 10:01 am

Hello JT
I’ve never been a big reader of comic books, actually. The idea just jumped right into my mind a couple of years ago, and I had to act on it.
It’s less about the uniform, and more about taking accountability for making the world a better place.

Hey man, cool idea, but if your doing this vigilante thing, do you really need to look into legality issues with your armoury, also nightsticks are bad ass, and would probably make you well imposing therefore you would probably never have to use them, or some cool kido stuff?

Peace

G’day Captain Australia, mate you’r an inspiration to us all is there anyway i can donate money to your cause ? i want to help make a difference

Reply

Captain Australia April 21, 2011 at 6:21 am

Hello Mate
Thank you for the kind words, but I really can’t take money from anybody. If you want to use your money to make a difference, can I suggest sponsoring a child under the World Vision program ? I currently sponsor two kids in very poor countries around the world, after becoming aware that Price Waterhouse Coopers did a transparency study on WV confirming that more than 90% of your monies make it directly to the communities, there is very little money burnt in administration.
Money gives choices and power – I already have choices and power, so I’d suggest that you could direct your cash to folks who need it more ?
In any case it’s a very kind and noble question, thank you.

Thank you everybody for your comments and questions.
I have been absentee dealing with a major life event under my civilian alter ego, and haven’t been able to regularly reply here. I am very sorry – I don’t want to disclose too much detail for fear of compromising my secret identity, but I’ve basically been extremely busy with my newborn son.
For those who have made kind comments – thank you very much.
For those interested in becoming heroes in their community asking for my advice, maybe you could email me at helpme@captainaustralia.net ?
There were a number of people posting hate, but regrettably I could not publish them as they included profanities and vulgarities, and I have concerns that kids may read the website. But for those with criticisms : thank you for your scrutiny and attacks, it makes me stronger and compels me to improve myself and refine my vision.

Hi, I would like to say my quotes i’ve made.
“The good and bad are just words but there is a difference between right and wrong”.
“One Life and once chance to live it”.
“When the rich wage war, it’s the poor that dies”.
I made these quotes and i have engraved those quotes on my shield.

You guys are so sad, can’t you see this man is trying to do something big? Today more so than ever before, people need heroes, people they can turn to. Things are getting out of hand and someone has to step in. Police are abusing their power, people are becoming restless, something must be done, and there are people out there willing to do it! You need to back off and take this stuff seriously!

Hey, just wanted to say I love the site. Also, just out of curiosity, have you ever stopped any “real crime” ? I’m not taking a stab, I think what you’re doing is amazing, and has really inspired me. I’m just curious to know how bad it’s actually gotten for you at times?
