Hello, Captain!
I'm just a confused Yank trying to make sense of the entire Real Life Super Hero Movement - but I like your style. In the light of the scandle here at Pennsylvania State College, I am beginning to question America's "traditional" heros - rock stars, movie stars, baseball and football players, and especially, sporting coaches. We've also been taught that people NEED TO GET INVOLVED. You're a great symbol/reminder of that. Besides, you're a pretty good writer. I like reading your story. Have you ever thought about changing your costume a little? I like the Captain America analogy and the kangaroos are a hoot -- but, you know, something like a Safari jacket and a bush hat worn with the existing outfit might offer a more imposing image - and be a little more practical. Maybe even a nice, long duster instead of safari jacket. Anyway, good luck on your quest and keep setting that example. I think I'm slowly starting to "get it."
Highest regards.

Thank you for your compassion, citizen, but please don't be sad.
This is an encouraging story. It shows us that chains of abuse can be broken, that evil can erode over time.
Consider my grandfather. His children absorbed as much of his selfish cruelty and evil as they could, but in her pain my mother allowed some to overflow to my generation. I've been able to absorb that, and in fact without it might not be the man I am today ... and my own children will have lives completely untained by it, and in fact we'll share plateus of kindness and goodness that other people might not discover, because we carry a deeper perspective in our family DNA.
Maybe she struggled as a mother, but I have to tell you, my mother is quite an awesome grandmother .. so you see ? This is a story of reconciliation and growth.
After all, without rain: can a flower grow ?
(Trust me, the story gets better for all concerned)
Your friend,

I have read this three times and cry harder each time. Maybe I am crying for myself and wishing things were different for you and your family. I don't know. Peace and love.
