Captain Australia’s Crime Fighting Journal, Entry#30
I’ve realised something. Something important. I genuinely want to help you, and I believe that by helping you, I will plant a seed. To plant a seed is an act of faith, essentially saying that you intend to make the world a more beautiful place and nourish someone with the fruit that will one day grow.
“The purpose of life is not to be happy – but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all”. ~Leo Rosten
I sincerely believe that it’s my social responsibility to take a stand, to commit myself to doing good. Captain Australia isn’t just about fighting crime, he is about changing the world. If you take a long, slow look at the world, you cannot deny the darkness, the apathy, the hollow & empty pursuits. Stopping someone from stealing a purse is heroic, in a way, but also petty. Doing ‘good deeds’ goes deeper.
I won’t explain for risk of compromising my secret identity, but I have a helper who is going to assist with re-structuring this website. I have added a section for SEEK MY HELP (http://www.captainaustralia.net/seek-my-help/), and I urge you, sincerely, to use it.
I don’t mind what your problem is. I may not have the set of skills or resources to solve it, but if you have a problem, I am with you. I will do my best to help you. It may be a dispute with a neighbour, a legal problem with a disgruntled relative, someone bullying you at school. Just by virtue of sharing your burden, you will lighten it: and I promise you, even if all I can do is offer genuine, honest advice, I will personally respond to all issues. In some cases, I may meet with you and work together with you to solve your problem (contingent on you giving me permission to film our interactions for my journal, in the hope of inspiring others).
I’m happy with anonymous entries if you just want advice, but if you need me to come and visit you and discuss your problem face to face give the details in the SEEK MY HELP section, but also send me an email at helpme@captainaustralia.net with your contact information so we can discuss how & when I will come and help you.
Again, not just crimes – it can be anything. Let me help you.
Your friend,
Captain Australia
