Captain Australia’s Crime Fighting Journal, Entry#61
I am Captain Australia, the Real Life Superhero.
If you want to learn more about me, you can read my FAQs, or read this recent newspaper article. Six months or so ago a talented guitarist wrote the Captain Australia Theme Song, if you’d like to have a listen.
I visited Sydney on the 20th of May, and had an eventful evening patrol through Kings Cross which I will tell you about later. (Having just arrived home, I need to spend time with my family – I met some great people and would like to tell you about them, just give me a day or two). In the meantime, I also spent some time with a lovely man Mohammed Elhassen from the ‘Good Morning Nomads’ program on Radio Skid Row (2RSR 88.9), you can listen to them here.
My trusty videographer recorded the interview, but again, regrettably the quality is not great. You can hear most of it below, although it will be broadcast by the station on Tuesday 25 May around 10-12 in the morning. It’s a 19 minute interview, so I had to break it into parts: sorry for the audio quality, I am a vigilante crime fighter and real life superhero, I am not a sound technician.
In the interview, we cover a range of interesting topics, including racism, religion, xenophobia and ways to cure these awful human prejudices and evils. Ultimately most of it boils down to fearing what you do not understand, I hold the view that the best way to cure prejudice is to continue to reach out your friendly hand and try to educate.
Mo, thank you for the opportunity to meet you and talk to your listeners. The station seems to be musically and ethnically diverse, with a lovely mix of world music – I am genuinely thankful for the chance to meet you.
I will tell you all more about my Sydney patrol soon.
PS: what do you think of the cape ?
Your friend,
Captain Australia
