A New Beginning

Captain Australia Theme Song

Facing CameraI’ve been thinking carefully about what awaits me in the New Year.

Just today I heard of a man released from prison (parole board granting early release).  This man had beaten and tortured his six year old son to death about 15 years ago.

It’s reminded me how important it is to face evil.  I have a strong urge to find this man, look him in the eye and confront him, ask him the key questions:  why, how.

As to my list of goals for 2010, I have the following broad list:

1) Face Evil.  Once my v.2 boots and gloves are sorted out in early January, I want to resume active patrols, and I want to start specifically targeting evil.

2) Charity Work.  I’ve offered my support to a range of worthy charities.

3) Inspiration.  I want to hold myself to the highest example of moral excellence, and reach out to as many people as I can, in the hopes that I will inspire them to also take personal responsibility for the world’s spiritual and social health.

4) Helping People.  I’m very keen to find people who need my help.  I don’t care if the problem is a neighbour dispute or a depressed teenager.  By reaching out to others, I’m hoping that more people will reach out to me and ask me to help them with their problems.  Any problems.

5) Fight for Causes.  There are a range of causes that I think are noble and I’d be happy to assist – example, the rape of the environment and the various half-hearted attempts by our political leaders to reach an accord regarding emmission reduction.  I want to find the right causes and make a real contribution where I can.

On each of my goals, you can help me.

If you can suggest evil that I could confront, or people who I can help, or causes where I could make a connection – I would be deeply grateful for your support if you could make contact with me and give me your advice.  It doesnt have to be public, you can privately email me at helpme@captainaustralia.net if you prefer.

In any case, I’d like to wish everybody peace and prosperity for 2010.  Lets do everything we can to make it a good year.

I think a lot of kids would get a kick out of a visit from you at their school or kindy. Will be bearing you in mind next time I need a hero. I’m just up the road in Noosa but don’t hold that against me:)

Thank you, Citizen.
I’d be delighted to speak to children (have actually offered my services to a couple of charities focussed on sick kids – but I’m afraid they think I am a crackpot).
I won’t discriminate against Noosaliens, just let me know if you ever need help.
